For us, everything. Our name reflects our home and the people we care so much about. But we weren’t always Alaska Airlines. The plane that started it all bore the name McGee Airways, named after its pilot Linious “Mac” McGee. McGee was a fur trader, who bought his first Stinson to help with that endeavor. Little did he know, McGee Airways would grow into one of the country’s leading airlines. After a series of mergers, the Alaska Airlines name was born in 1944, we’ve worn it proudly ever since.
